So, I showed the fiance some pics and he liked the outcome. We'll be seeing each other tonight for dinner so he'll be able to see the actual. We'll see what he'll say.Thursday, July 31, 2008
trial hair & make-up
Well as you might have noticed I don't wear make-up. One reason behind it is I'm just plain lazy. I don't even comb my hair most of the times. But today I went to a professional make-up artist to have my trial hair & make-up done for my wedding. Yeah, I'm scouting for a wedding make-up artist. This afternoon I went to see Madge Lejano. I like her. Madge was telling me that she don't believe at having trial make-up done because each work is an art and one must not expect that she'll see the same style of make-up on her wedding day. Hehehe. She was asking me about who we got for our videographer & photographer. I told her our suppliers and she said that we got a fun bunch of people. I'm quite excited for the wedding actually even if it's still very far. Hahaha.

shirting the dress
I got this shirt dress at SM department store a couple of months back. It's a blatant copy from Zara in like a fraction of the price. They do have a lot of cheap Zara copies now at SM. Given that the stocks are a couple of seasons late but I reckon these are basic pieces and won't got out of style that fast. Shopping at SM are one of my cheap thrills. They really got it all for you! I'm pretty sure Filipino readers would understand what I'm talking about. Hahaha.

shopping ban
I am in a shopping ban for a month and boy is it hard or what?!? I mean, I promised that I won't go shopping and that's what I am doing. It's hard I tell you especially when you see a lot of really nice clothes & shoes (!!!) out there. I just came from the mall 'coz the fiance went to buy a new jacket & a pair of jeans from Zara. Whilst he was in the changing room I went to check out the F/W collection of Zara Woman & TRF. I saw a lot of stuff I want! Argh! I guess I just need to wait just a few more weeks and yeah I'll be able to go shopping again. Hahaha. I tell you there are a few things I love in life and one of them is shopping. ;P

the color of the day is pink
What I wore today:
Vintage top, pink mini skirt, pink & gold sandals
My fiance & I went to check out a coutouriere/designer bridal showroom and we really like what we saw. I'm going to have my wedding gown & my whole entourage made by her! But first we need to submit a moodboard so that we (my fiance, me & the designer) could really conceptualize and understand what we really like for our wedding. I'm quite excited for my wedding already! To tell you the truth I really just want to dress up and feel like a queen! Hahaha! After the meeting we went to Salcedo Market to have lunch. It was scorching hot today but I say it's worth it! I got Phad Thai, iced green tea and lengua adobo. Yum! I saw this Chinese dimsum food cart but they ran out of the rice rolls I want to order. I love going to Salcedo market because they really do have a lot of great food over there that you'd just want o try everything out! If only Makati is not that far away from my place I'd definitely be here every weekend.

it's a wedding thing
A friend of my dear bf or should I say fiance got married today. I look forward to attending weddings. Perfect reason to dress up and it's such a no brainer mostly 'coz all you need is a nice dress (or a cute blouse & skirt combo), a pair of strappy sandals, a shawl (for those cold reception venues) and a bag! Viola! You're good to go! Hehehe. You can either go long or short with your dresses. I go for short dresses most of the time. The only thing is you must really wish that you won't bump into another guest wearing the same dress as you (if your dress is straight of the rack from the local mall). Hehehe.

tag! you're it!
Got tagged by pammish & bestie
1. Link back to the person that tagged you.
2. Post these rules on your blog.
3. Share six unimportant things about yourself.
4. Tag six people at the end of your entry.
6 unimportant things about me:
1. I have the tendency to be an obsessive shopper when I like a particular item. For example right now I am obsessed with vests & high heeled oxfords. So whenever I am shopping these are the items I look for.
2. Even though I live in a tropical country (read: where it's always humid & hot!) I always buy jackets or cardigans and always carry one with me.
3. I am fascinated with serial killers, mass murderers and the likes. I even did a paper about them in high school.
4. I like listening to Chinese pop (Cantonese & Mandarin) even though I can't understand a thing!
5. I believe in God but don't believe in organized religion but I am a baptized Catholic and studied in a Catholic school all my life.
6. I am a 3rd generation Chinese living in the Philippines. I cannot speak, understand or read the language even if I studied it for 13 years. So sad, but true.
Tagging nobody 'coz it seems like everybody did this already.

stars are blind
Oh how I envy a lot of bloggers who get to score adorable clothes in thrift stores. I used to shop at thrift stores way back when I was still in school with my classmates. We would set a date to go on these shopping trips. It was great fun scouring musky dusty thrift stores and finding great gems hidden within. Now that I'm working I've got no time to go and check out thrift stores. It doesn't help that the parentals are very much against buying from these said stores. I don't know maybe because of the stigma that clothes found here are used and maybe you could get skin diseases from wearing these clothes. Well, maybe I should schedule a date to head out and check out thrift stores again. If I get some free time. ;)

argh!
I am so frustrated with this wedding preparation thing. I don't know where to start and what would happen with it. It's driving me crazy! I hate it!
